Last year I experienced my first boat trip with my dad Mike S and a family friend, Tim H. What a great experience. Shoutout to Tim for getting me on my first walleye. Tim was very patient with my endless interest and questions to better understand the whole task. I learnt some new techniques such as bottom bouncing and the use planer boards. First time seeing technology on a boat. First time seeing a fish being 'cleaned' which really means the entire removal of anything unedidable. When I returned home after a full day of walleye fishing, I tried my first one. Fried with lemon and butter. It's such a grounding experience to catch and cook my own food. I hope to do more of that this year in 2024.
Father daughter fishing is something irreplaceable. I'm excited for another few trips this year.
